Donation FAQ
Is my donation tax-deductible?+
Not yet guaranteed. Our 501(c)(3) application is in process with the IRS. Once approved, tax-exempt status is expected to be retroactive to our incorporation date, July 22, 2026, and gifts made during this period would become deductible. We keep a full record of every donation and will notify all donors and issue updated acknowledgments upon approval. Please consult your tax advisor about your individual situation.
Will I get a receipt?+
Yes. You will receive an email receipt immediately after your donation. For monthly gifts, a receipt is sent with each charge. Keep them for your records.
How is my donation used?+
Donations fund research grants to academic and medical institutions working on HIKESHI-related leukodystrophy, support for affected families, and the foundation's operating costs. Founders are not compensated.
About our nonprofit status
HIKESHI Foundation is an established nonprofit organization and we are accepting donations today. Our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is in progress; once granted, contributions may be retroactively recognized for tax purposes. Thank you for your support — and for caring.

We will: confirm receipt of your gift, send a personal thank-you, and provide a tax acknowledgment letter once our 501(c)(3) status is granted (donations made before that date may be retroactively recognized for tax purposes — please consult your tax advisor).
